The Influence of Refined Urban Morphological Parameters on Dynamical and Thermal Fields in a Single-Layer Urban Canopy Model

In this study, localised and non-uniform urban morphology (UM) fraction (UF) parameters are implemented in a single-layer canopy scheme the Weather Research Forecasting (WRF) mesoscale meteorological model. The purpose of research is to evaluate effect refined parameterisation on simulation dynamic thermal fields Guangzhou metropolitan area. results showed that, compared with default WRF model, using UM resulted most significant improvement 10 m wind speed simulation. districts, mean bias between observed simulated was reduced significantly by 59% from 2.63 m/s 1.09 during daytime. For environment daytime, higher UF values lower surface albedos generated narrower street canyons modelling setting, which caused more heat be trapped ultimately led an increase skin temperature (TSK) largely increased ground flux (GRD). As result, at night, transferred surface, producing TSK. sensible (HFX) closely related near-surface gradient. HFX exchange coefficient model layers. high-resolution altered geometry, large friction velocity decrease speed.
